Florian Habicht Director, Co-editor, Co-producer

Florian Habicht is both dreamer and observer.
He was born in Berlin in 1975, and immigrated with his family to New Zealand in 1982.
His digital feature “Woodenhead”, a surreal musical fairytale, became a cult hit there, and has screened in international festivals aswell as being distributed in the U.S.
The documentary “Kaikohe Demolition” was released theatrically throughout New Zealand and won best digital feature at the New Zealand Screen Awards.
In 2005 Florian developed the feature project “Permissive Paradise” at the Binger Filmlab in Amsterdam.
His recent feature “Rubbings from a Live Man” a documentary performed by Warwick Broadhead, screens theatrically this November.
Next year Florian will spend a year in New York, as the inaugral recipient of the Harriet Friedlander Artist Residency, administered by the Arts foundation of New Zealand.
